What was novel about this method is that i depended on extending the 
muscles under tension. That's when the healing reaction happens..not 
when contracting.
So in the good old tried and true rubber band exercise, what does the 
most good in not when you spread your fingers against the band's 
tension, but rather when you very slowly bring your fingers back together.
I bet a small garage door spring or a stout piece of rubber hose would 
save you the $20.
