Here's the latest that I just sent to my EK Metalsmith's List. There
had been a bit of a delay in information while his wife, Deb, had been
getting Internet set up in the place she's staying.
De Frost JERRY IS TALKING TODAY!!!!!!
His occupational therapist walked in just as he was demanding COFFEE
<VBG> and was amazed by the change overnight. Admittedly, he wasn't
really making a lot of sense (and this could go back and forth so
don't get your hopes up too much (I'm trying not to but its HARD). For
today - for this morning _ Our Frosty was frustrated that we would not
hand him a cup of coffee. :)
(follow-up to last post) Oh, btw, he can't yet HOLD a cup of coffee -
for that matter, he hasn't yet passed his "swallow test" so can't have
anything orally yet, but just verbally - CLEARLY asking for it is a
big step forward. Toddler step!
De Frost One of our friends (Scott, a local hobby smith and his wife)
stopped by today while I was out at a dentist appt. and left me a
thermos of fresh MOOSE STEW and a small loaf of home-made bread. Gee
... that *almost* make last nite's broken tooth (mine, that is) less
traumatic <sigh>. Yep, I said broken tooth. You'd think *they* (the
powers of the universe) would give a girl a break, wouldn't you?
De Frost I found this picture of Frosty ... happier days. Heck, it was
before he even finished building his shop - not having a "real" shop
yet never slowed him down - anyplace he could set up an anvil was fine
with him. Now that he HAS a shop, we need to get him back to it.

De Frost Frosty has been actively "talking" (some of it made sense,
sort of, and some didn't) almost all day. He doesn't realize where he
is yet ... and is struggling at the restraints on his wrists, but if I
even loosen them, he grabs for tubes and tried to get up, which he
CANNOT do yet <sigh>. This is hard. :(
De Frost I have to sign off for the night now ... It's almost 6:30 PM
here and getting darker by the minute. I hate to leave him awake and
talking even it isn't making a lot of sense ... it's still Jer and I
am frustrated that I have to go due to my blasted lousy night vision.
De Frost Be back in the morning - oh, and all the notes and jokes and
prayers ARE working I've been reading them to Jer and I think he's
beginning to understand it some. We'll get there. Hugs to all and to
all a good (peaceful) night,-Deb (and Jer)
