If its an occassional tweak, use the cutter for a heater.  Just move it a 
lot to distribute the heat.  And don't hit the cutter lever! If you really 
need a heater for larger, longer or frequent  heats, get the right rosebud. 
an O/A rosebud isn't much cheaper, not worth the savings.  For frequent 
heats, you can build yourself a micro forge out of firebrick, castable or 
rigid ceramic fiber to conserve the heat
