I would have preferred he dress the tools.   A good book nonetheless.   
A couple of years ago I was tapering a one inch square bar to a point 
using my son as a striker.  His sledge was in good shape, no visible 
defects and he hit the work cleanly, but a piece of the face spalled off 
and cut a trench in my hand.  Piece missing wasn't very big at all, just 
a sliver, but my hand bled like crazy.   It happened to be one of the 
few times I wasn't wearing safety glasses at the anvil.   I put them 
on.     It will suffer in silence for years, but old iron will have its 
revenge.
