hello;
a friend of a friend of a friend is selling off alot of his equipment
because he is being forced to downsize to a smaller home. he has several
metal working tools one of which is an older milwaukee portable band saw.
the unit is roughly 2 ft in length. he has a mixture of bands for it some
for steel some for non-ferrious, some for plastic and a few for wood.
i have looked at the new milwaukee portable band saws and the porter-cable
portable band saws but i am having trouble visualizing just where i would
need something like it.
what type of jobs require a portable band saw? just where would one use
a portable band saw?
other tools he is selling are two porta-a-power kits. now those come it
handy for those times when you need some significant force in a tight
space.
one other piece of machinary he is attempting to sell off is a jet band
saw. the unit is a 7" x 12" 3/4 hp 1-phase horizontal/vertical band saw.
this unit is probably 2 to 3 years old. he is asking $900.00 usd for
this saw. i am not sure where i would put it while the new shop is being
built. i have one of the older 6 inch chinese horizontal band saw that
does work and does nearly everything that i need done. i have worked on
the chinese band saw using ideas from theforge and from the internet.
anyway, is $900.00 usd a reasonable price for this band saw?
