Works Pete? Which, theforge list or the LG?

I picked up a 50# LG (ser# 2436 delivered to Los
Angeles Heavy Hardware Jan 17, 1912) about four weeks
ago, literally days after an insurance check from my
Mother's estate came in. Everything on it is in pretty
good shape, new babbit two years ago and only a little
play in the link arms. I got it all set up, new base
made, wired and when I flipped the switch nothing. . .
I checked all the wiring about three times, ran a meter
on everything and it all seemed good. It turned out my
welder generator wasn't making amperage on the 240v
plug. Both legs worked just fine on the 120v but not on
the 240v. I took the welder into the shop to see what's
wrong and get it repaired, I'm holding out hope it's
just a bad plug, loose something, etc. but . . .

So, seeing as I couldn't start using the thing I
decided to go ahead and paint it, make a gaurd over the
spring and a brake.

It's that or yard work and we have a BIG yard. <grin>
