Ya know.. this whole discussion reminds me of the time I had a fairly 
young machinist poo poo blacksmithing at one of my art show demos. 
 I was doing my spiel on "by hammer and hand"  etc... when he pipes off 
about how inferior blacksmithing is to modern machining.. 

so I asked him..  "How long will it take you to put a 1/2 inch hole 
through a section of 1/2 inch round stock ?"

He noodled on it a bit and said it couldnt be done...  I proceeded to 
show him it takes less than 5 minutes
