AND, once you shape them, how long does it take to dress them up?
Cheaper is better.

I had to hold court on the local woodturners for using files w/ the edge 
sharpened as scrapers. Got the whole club on a field trip to my shop, and 
chucked up a new file in the big vise, tapped it w/ a light hammer, and (of 
course) it went flying down range. Chucked one only annealed, hit it w/ a 
BIG hammer, & took several blows to even bend it. Made believers out of 
them. Several brought me their scrapers to temper.
