On Saturday April 04 the Northwest Ohio Blacksmiths will host an
open forge at the Wood County Historical Society near Bowling Green, Ohio.
This is the opening day for the Wood County Museum's 2009 season. The museum
blacksmith shop is located in the Boom Town exhibit next to the boiler for
the steam powered oil drilling rig which I hear will be under steam power
and the S.M. Jones gas engine oil pumping power display. We will have
several portable forges operating in addition to the blacksmith shop. We
plan to have some project for the smiths to make.
The museum exhibits will be open. NOB activities start around 08:30
AM and the museum opens between 09:00 and 10:00. The museum is located on
US-6 just East of I-75 Southeast of Bowling Green, Ohio. You can see the oil
drilling derrick from I-75 if you know where to look and it is easy to spot
from US-6. If you can come, all are welcome.
