Yes, but thats not drilling- thats forging....

If you use a spacer jig, you can get pretty accurate hole to hole  
spacing, even working hot. I have seen Italian blacksmiths, who crank  
out round bar grilles, which have a punched and drifted hole every 6",  
get very accurate spacing just with a simple jig. The jig indexes off  
the last hole, and you punch right thru it, so every hole is the same  
distance apart.
You got to be good at bending things straight again at the end,  
though...
