    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    MIAMI--March 10, 2003--Jesse James, host of Discovery Channel's
Monster Garage, will pay a visit to the AWS Welding Show in Detroit to
accept a golden welding helmet in
recognition for the advanced welding technology and creative skills
he exhibits on his hit TV show. Fans of the show are encouraged to come
and meet Jesse at 11:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 8, at the AWS Welding Show in Cobo Center, downtown
Detroit. Jesse will accept the award and sign autographs at booth #501
(ESAB Welding and Cutting Products).
Accompanying him will be the Kyle Petty NASCAR Winston Cup car that
was transformed into the world's fastest street sweeper in an episode of
Monster Garage.

The American Welding Society (AWS) is proud to honor Jesse for his
role in promoting the image of welding to television viewers throughout
the world. "The Image of Welding
has been designated as a top priority project by the American Welding
Society. The challenge the welding industry faces is very serious,"
stated Rusty Franklin, chairman of
the AWS Image of Welding task group. "If we can't substantially
expand public awareness of the vital role that welding plays in our
total economy - and the outstanding
career opportunities offered by the welding industry - we'll see more
welding fabrication jobs leave the U.S.A., not because of labor costs,
but because enough trained
welding people are simply not available."

The Golden Helmet Award is a functioning welder helmet, created by
Jackson Products, using cutting-edge technology to ensure safety and
comfort. The American Welding Society
will award Jesse an engraved plaque along with the helmet, as
recognition to the Discovery Channel for successful production and
promotion of Monster Garage. Monster Garage
airs Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on the Discovery Channel.
