I checked my punch at home.  I have a Rotex rotary punch that can do 1" 
round, or up to 1 1/2" round.  If you have the copper you can always 
come down here and punch them out.  A couple of hours with number 
stamps and you are done.  It would give you a good excuse to make the 
trip.  You can always check out the trip on Google, I am at 07727.  I 
think that is how I will make my tags, except I will add a 3/16" hole 
to each one so I can also attach using cable ties to some of the 
objects.

I was hoping for a single solution whereby you make an on line purchase 
 and
later on someone sends you 400 1" round copper tags that are neatly 
stamped  1
through 400. Alas, that may not be.
