I prefer to make knives with stabilized wood. It doesn't absorb moisture or shrink away from the rivets. I don't know if teak has too much oil in it to accept the stabilizing resins, but WSSI in texas can tell you.

It will cost about $10-$12 per pound of wood AFTER it is stabilized.
