hello;
yesterday, thursday was spent attempting to repair the septic field.
while digging down with the backhoe to uncover a 10 ft cast iron pipe
that needs to be replaced because of corrosion what do i find is a 4 ft
round roughly 4 inches thick piece of concrete that is clearly not
suppose to be there.
some background here. a previous owner of this house removed the central
airconditioning. the central airconditioning unit sat on a concrete pad
between the back stairs and the tv tower. since the air conditioning
unit was gone there was no need for the concrete pad. so instead of
leaving it alone someone buried it it in the septic field.
why did they choose the septic field??!?!?!?!?!
did they ever consider that some future owner may just have to repair
the septic field?!?!?!?!?!? perhaps they did and they decided to give
the future owner a humor check and a challenge.
so after using the backhoe bucket to drop a piece of 100 lb railroad
rail on the concrete to break it into more manageable pieces i was able
to continue on with digging down to the cast iron pipe.
