Jeff,

If you have a thread guage check the thread count. That will help you
narrow down to possible choices. Once you have the thread count you can go
to a drill/tap chart and find the screw that has the right count and is
about the right size.

Subject: Machine screw size?

Today in a trash pile I found a little 1" wide blade, plane. I found three
pieces, the body, the blade, and the "wedge" that slips over the blade and
tensions it when a screw is tightened thru this piece against the blade.
I'm trying to find the screw and nothing I have fits. A 10 - 32 starts
easily and then after 1/8" it won't go anymore. I don't have a metric that
small so maybe that's it. Anyone familiar with this situation and have a
guess as to what size it is. I could run a 10 - 32 tap thru it, or go to
lowes and see if anything fits. Thanks,

Jeff in WTF is it this hot Tallahassee
