Treadle hammer is excellent for repose/chasing
Basically George Dixon and Mindy Gardner type work if you have seen that.
If using that type tooling which is hitting hand held chisels, butchers,
flatters ect I personally would not put the 60# of weight into the head.

Mark...they are 2 different machines with different functions. A treadle
hammer can lay down a blow that's about equal to a sledge, but 
it's real virtue is for times when you need 3 hands for lighter stuff.
