hello;


last thursday i had my ortho checkup and the orthospedic doctor said
that the person who put me back together is an artist and that it is a
miracle that i am walking once again. he even gave the go ahead to go
on my dream 'road trip'. so literally right after leaving hones v.a.
hospital i went to chicago motoworks and looked at the latest and
greatest motorscooters and motorcycles. not finding what i was looking
for there i went to bollingbrook illinois urban motors this past friday
and found what i was looking for. i have purchased a 2008 piaggio mp3
500 red and a 2009 piaggio mp3 400 red. i am planning out my road trip.
current plan is to take historic route 66 from illinois to southern
california. southern california to the state of washington crossover
into canada at vancover and across canada stopping off to see friends
and relatives. once to nova scotia stop in halifax for a week or two
and proceed down the east coast to florida then back from florida to
northern illinois.

not sure how long it will take but i want to do this before i am unable
to do much of anything. anyone who would like to join the road trip
along the way is more than welcomed to come along.

i would love to stop in on members of theforge e-mail list along the way
and share a cup of coffee and lunch. anyone up for a visit please let me
know.

what blacksmithing related sites are worth seeing and stopping for along
the over 6000 miles of road?
