Dan, Amen to that. Cheap tools are not really cheap. I've used and abused an
old Makita chop saw for ten years and it was used when I bought it. I bought
an almost new, no-name Chinese pos for an extra and cut almost through one
piece of car spring and it smoked. Ryan Johnson and I smoked a new one at
Madison a few years ago cutting strips to make Damascus. The HF battery
powered drills are worse than worthless for anything that requires more
torque than your fingers for any time at all. The battery will croak when
you need it to finish a job.

If you want a really good hand-held metal cutting saw, talk to Al McClure.
That thing has paid for itself many times.

I missed the first post but I built my house with an airgun and battery
operated saw, drill. I have one thing to say--- MILLWAULKEE !!!! the
sawzall, cut even 1 1/2" bolts. the saw is a real 6 1/2" blade. The drill
has great torque. So good battery tools work great. Cheap .... is cheap.
