[TheForge] Vermiculite

Thanks for the information,  I don't want to get into something that will 
break down even faster.  I have used wood ash in the past but didn't like 
the mess.

I did find a nursery that has vermiculite, but only in large amounts. I had 
hoped to get a couple small bags but will get the large bag if that is all 
that is available.

I'd read that they discovered asbestos in some of the vermiculite.
Also i think it's absorbs more water than the perlite.
Perlite tends to break down into powder a little faster than vermiculite
when i've used it. Tend to think of it as, silicosis in a bag.
Being cheap, i use fine , light colored fireplace ash for that.
