[TheForge] Criminal Background Check

Gotta agree- its just a fact of life, and, if any government agency
actually cared about you, it wouldnt make one lick of difference
whether they had your fingerprints or not- they gonna get you if they
want you...

I had to get fingerprinted to be a parent chaperone for school field
trips, when my kids were in elementary school.
For me, the tradeoff of actually helping kids, my own and others,
versus some paranoid dream of Big Brother being after me- it was a no
brainer. I am pretty anti- authority, but I marched right down to the
police station and got printed.

That was some years ago, and, so far, anyway, no jack booted federal
agents have darkened my doorway.

I truly understand the reluctance to get fingerprinted, in this instance
it does seem unnecessary. To me the bottom line is do you want to
volunteer there? If so, forget about it. The FBI or similar agency
could have your grade school report card tomorrow if they need it. I
mean, are you a second story man on the weekends? What are they really
going to do with your prints? I can't buy ammo or long arms in NJ with
out getting fingerprinted. I really didn't like it but ............
