I displayed at the 3rd or 4th original Pleasure Faire in LA. We had a
big dispute as to if parachutes were period covering. The SCA had all of
a dozen members. The Patterson's ( drama teachers) who started it ,were
being dissed cause they broke away from the radical public radio station
( KPFK) that the Faires were a benefit for.
County inspectors didn't figure in till we tried to set up in
conservative Ventura county where they sicced the fire inspectors on us
for political reasons.
