[TheForge] Shop Air using Copper

My father used to be a federal inspector. The code varies depending upon many things that are not obvious. Houses across the street from each other, identical in all aspects, may have different code rules, based upon how much money was put down and/or who the bank is. Bewildering array. I would do research and then visit the local zoning folks. Get it in writing. It has been my personal experience that in some counties they will not easily allow us (the end users) to get a copy of the code without jumping through hoops. When we built my house, though my family had over 90 years combined building experience, we were not at that time a "licensed company" and therefore had a lot of problems due to that "fact."

Then again, you may can do it yourself and be "grandfathered" in.

The bottom line is whatever it takes to make the local inspectors happy.

Good luck.

I believe the plumbing code requires type L. I put in copper in my shop
a couple years ago and researched it then. (replaced PVC which shattered
in places while I was ripping it out Yikes!)

Google around for plumbing codes and compressed air. You'll find a lot
of information.
