[TheForge] rust finish

Folks: Rust finishes can be maintained outdoors by coating with Permalac.
I have had good luck by first rusting fully, then burnishing the rusted
surface with a stiff nylon brush. This produces a plum colored finish.
Once the finish is burnished, after the desired depth is reached, then
Permalac it. I first used the rusting technique on ML barrels and it is
quite handsome. Grant

That's what I think. I'm going to have to dissuade my customer from
this. Maybe I can come up with a faux finish that will look similar.
I have been experimenting the last few days and it looks like I can do
this with a painted finish and then dry brush it for the mottled
appearance.
