[TheForge] Draining the lines

Hey,
I finally found an extension from my regulator to the propane tank (which is outside on a shelf now!). So I've got one hose from forge to reg, then another few feet from reg to tank. I haven't started it up yet though. I know to check for leaks but when you shut down the gas from the tank, do I do anything to drain the line? I've got the whatever it's called little on off valve at the forge of course.
Sorry if this is a sad question. It's all the fear that's been instilled on me by everyone! Everytime I went to get a gas fitting for the extension (which in the city was no easy task!) I got a lecture!
