[TheForge] Spring steel Gun Part

What was the old tale about putting the spring in an old cotton sock in the 
oil and lighting it?
The sock was supposed to burn @ ~ 600d, for the oxidizing color blue.
And we wondered why all those clock springs were colored blue.
