[TheForge] role of the fool

Isn't that what wives are for?
My old friend Dr Tinkerpaw ( RIP) took the role of the fool in Cambria
when it was a disapproving small town with great social pressure to conform.
He seized freedom of behavior in doing so ( well, he beat up the nosy
deputy sheriff a couple of times too, admittedly). It gave him room to
tell all and sundry exactly what he thought, to say the things nobody
else dared say, to drink an awful lot of beer, to " take care of the
widder women" , and to be Art doing his art and build his parody of
Hearst Castle out of junk and found objects.
I find creative freedom in the role of the fool.
Tell your wife me and Art Beal said, it's a good thing!...pf
