As it happens, Duff, Micheal Bondi, and I were the featured artists at
this years Southern Illinois Metalsmiths conference in Carbondale Il,
and SIU.
So, yeah, Duff has been pretty busy the last few days.
Carbondale is the only college in the US where you can get a graduate
degree in blacksmithing.
It has a great, well equipped shop, an expert blacksmith and metal
artist professor, Rick Smith, a second jewelry/metals professor, Sun
Park, and a great group of students. 6 grad students right now, along
with a rotating cast of 30 to 50 undergrads doing various things.
Some of the most famous blacksmiths in america went thru the program
at Carbondale, including Jim Wallace of the Metals Museum, Phillip
Baldwin, Darryl Meier, Duff himself, and many many more.
We had a great time, talked a lot, did some demo's, ate barbecue every
day, and just got home late last night.
Call Duff- he almost always answers his own phone.

Thanks Ries- actually have an info request in to Duff, he must have
been at a conference or something- anyone have experience with Zero
Rust (which I have used and am very happy with) and their clear coat,
Crystal Coat?
The local dealer isn't knowledgeable about using it on bare metal, and
the corp website is no help at all.
Thanks!
