[TheForge] archives, clear finish

Help! I can't seem to find the list archives...I know this question has  
been asked over and over..
I made a set of chairs for a beautiful home and finished them in a wax  
finish, now the customer wants patio furniture and loves the look of  
unpainted steel.
All the local steel gurus just shrug and say that clear finish won't last  
no matter what I do...
Any suggestions?
I'm pricing stainless, as an alternative, but the look he really likes is  
to match what I already did.
