[TheForge] Knee Replacement

Ask your doctor about resurfacing. It is far less invasive, I hear,
than a complete replacement. If your insurance will not cover it
(bastards) I would consider going to Europe to get it done. Routine
over there.

I know several people who have had knee replacements and the recovery
time always seems to be longer than expected. The Evil One's father had
his done at 71 - took about 6 months before he felt right again. My
friend Steve had both hips done (he's about 55) and did the best of
anyone I know. Aunt Marie had a knee done and had problems for awhile,
she was about 72 at the time... just guessing - you know women and
revealing age.

But all in all, everyone I know that has had it done was pleased with
the result. Wayne Goddard over on the knifelist had both his done going
on about 10 years now. I remember he was not so happy a camper just prior.
