Frosty,

Once again, I listen to your sage advise.  They have 4 draft horses to trim the lawn.  They were thinking of goats to help clear some of the over-grown areas to expand their pasture.  Probably only 5-6 of their 20 acres is cleared enough for the horses.  The rest is grown up in all manner of black jack oak, red bud, cottonwood, black walnut, poison ivy, sand burs, etc., etc., ad nauseam.

What's it cost to have a mower butchered, wrapped and
frozen? How do they taste BBQed?

Seriously though, goats are browsers, preferring
leaves, bark and the like. No starving necessary to get
them to clear brush. Most brush that is, there are
varieties goats won't eat. You also need to check to
see what may be toxic. I don't know about acorns but I
believe oak is no problem at all.

If you want to keep the lawn trimmed you want sheep.
They'll keep it trimmed to about 3/4" and spread the
manure evenly by wagging their tails while they go. It
isn't hot enough to burn anythhing anyway.

If you put them in the freezer before they're a year
old you have lamb = mmmmmmm. NOT mutton = strong strong
strong.
