Can't say I have any personal experience. Just out of curiosity I 
googled 'forging corten' and got a few hits. It seems that forging 
wouldn't alter the chemistry of the steel (from what I've read). I 
think you might have more luck on experienced replies if you joined the 
'artmetal' list. TheForge seems to have died. Here are the links for
