I've been there several times and looked at ironwork.  The Boston 
Commons area is great and so are many areas from South Boston, the 
business district and just about every residential area.  Look at Beacon 
Hill too.  Just find an older area (there are not many new ones) and 
walk.  Stuff is everywhere, old mixed with new, like all things some is 
good some is not.  Lots of simple stuff that upon close inspection is 
very old.  Be sure to take your digital camera.
