Diluted muriatic acid cleaned the worst of the tarnish and Tarnex followed
by Brasso cleaned the bell pretty good. I wanted to leave the faint outline
of the Mil Specs lettering, so stopped short of a complete polish. The shell
was stamped in 1953 as a 90 mm round and apparently was cut off and loaded
as a blank in 1959. (Theory based on the lettering); does anyone know about
this type of ordinance? I'll have it at our conference in Barbervills this
weekend.
