Terry,
I can't remember where you live but here in Ohio, I see no need for a blower on a big tractor. They may be OK on a garden tractor.
I have a 1950's MF 30 HP tractor that I use on my farm and I use a simple blade. I have a 1,000 ft lane that I plow with it and have no problems. A blade can be as low as a $150. My tractor of course is used but tractors from this era will last 100 yrs. Mine cost me $3,000 ten years ago.
Most people might think 30hp is a small tractor. I run my 5' brush hog and hay equipment including baler with this.
I think blowers can be dangerous .... especially if you have stones or gravel.
Walt

Terry, I looked at this
site(http://how-to-plans.com/log_splitter_plans.html) for splitter
plans a while back. Looks like a nice clean design but if you're buying
all new iron, engine and hydraulics you will end up spending close to
what you can buy one ready to go. Fleet Farm up here in Winona, MN has
a 22 ton w/BS engine for $999.00
Snow blowers on tractors can be a real pain in the neck! if they are
mounted on the 3point and you have to go backwards. No fun. This front
mount kit looks interesting
