Interesting cost comparison from a structural engineer working on  
industrial solar power generation projects in Nevada: Cost of Iraq war (IF  
care for injured and traumatized veterans is included)- around 3 trillion.
Cost to build and implement enough solar installations to provide not only  
energy independence but make coal virtually obsolete- 2 trillion.
We've already wasted enough to have achieved something useful.
