Greetings,
First off, a friend in Knoxville, TN recently had his anvil
stolen. He has been unable to find one locally and since we are
getting together in 3 weeks at an event just north of Kansas City, MO
has asked me to look around for one. He is looking for anvil in
150-200 lb range and can pay up to $500 total (including shipping).
Can anyone on these lists help him out? If it ain't over a 5 hour
drive from East Bethel. MN or is on the way to Kansas City, I'll come
get it!
On another note, I have recently been given a contract from a
metalurgy company to pound their new alloys into bar stock which they
will then test for tensile strength, bending, etc. They have very
presice heating and pounding requirements. The metals have to be
heated to certain temperatures for certain lengths of "soak" time and
then pounded in different directions to prevent crystaline formation.
I have done a few similar jobs for them already, but just as they sent
me 15 new samples, my small kiln died. I need a kiln that can heat to
1200, 1300, 1800 and keep it at those temperatures for 30 minutes or
more. I need a cavity at least 4"x4"x8" and a good pyronmeter
(thermometer?)
Does anyone have one that they would sell (or loan for a few weeks
near the end of June)?
