When I was learning to fly it was - right rudder during full power
maneuvers. I think right/left rudder depends on engine rotation and perhaps
push/pull propeller configuration. Most aircraft engines rotate the same
direction.

Rudder? Think of the torque reaction. Rudder has nothing directly
to do with the torque issue AFAIK.
