[TheForge] Iron & Armor in Chicago? And maybe good cheap

Think: Bronze and Brass, Art Deco, and you won't be disappointed.
I was amazed to find almost no wrought iron in the Chicago architecture
vocabulary.
There ARE some nice gates and things in the northern suburbs, but I had a
great time just leaving the iron obsession behind when I went there last
year a couple times. It's just not there, downtown at least (except for
the Yellin gate Ries mentions, which honestly looks really sad and out of
place, though it's a formidable piece of craftsmanship)- But there's so
much else to see.
Take the riverboat architecture tour, it's really good, and done by UC
architecture students.
