[TheForge] Tools you have got to have - was Repair job

I sure there are others out there that have tools that they have picked up 
from some other craft or function that are very useful in one's tool box. 
Like Frosty's suggestion of crochet needles.

Two come to mind from Frosty's suggestion.

One is hemostats.  These are locking clamps in stainless steel used to close 
off (clamp) in surgery.  I have sometimes seen them in a few catalogs but 
think I picked mine up at flea markets for a few dollars each.  Someone that 
maybe able to tell you where to find some a low cost is your friendly vet.

The other is a ring clamp or ring vise from the jewelry trade.  These are 
made with soft jaw, usually leather and tightened by the use of a wedge. 
They are really great for holding small items that you need to do file work 
on.  The only place I know to buy one of these is from a jewelry supply 
house, and maybe some hobby shops.

Both of the above are more for "model makers" than blacksmiths but really 
useful to hold, work on small stuff.  The kind of stuff that is hard to see 
anymore.
