Andy, Andrew and Chuck,
Thanks for your advice.  My bosses decided to get 4140 round bar for  
$1.53 per pound, annealed.  When we have some spare time or break a  
few more dogs I guess we'll bend them up and give them a shot.  I  
remember when Pacific Industrial was in their old location they were  
selling dogs for $30 a piece.  Now I see why.
