Graham:

I just received a price list form them. I am now trying to figgure out cost
effectiveness, including shipping, exchange rates and price size. This
last is the killer. Unlike with mild steel in tis country, price is hardly
related to weight at all. For example, 1/4 round lists at 13.00 per foot,
while 5/8 round lists at 5.01. BTW, perhaps you could tell me what
demonation I should assume for these prices. Euros? Pounds? If its
pounds, now is definite;ly not a good time to be importing iron. Works out
to USD $2.00 per foot for 5/8 round, and it goes as high as $100 per foot
for other, not necessarily larger, sizes.

Ineresting that someone is producing the stuff, though

They are about 35miles north east of where I'm sat.

I think I rang them up once for some price quotes a couple of years back
and they seemed pretty helpful. This stuff is not cheap though.

The wrought iron they sell is I believe recycled at the historic
IronBridge hammer at Blist Hill.
See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2GHI9-6gMI for a video of large
chunks of chain etc. being reworked under a large hammer into the bars
you can purchase.
