[TheForge] portable stand for a post vise

I don't think I have any pics that'd show the
attachments but it's pretty easy to describe.
Think of it like a trailer hitch and receiver tubing
and you're half way there. I welded some 1/8" or there
abouts bent to match the drum for reinforcement and
then welded a piece of 2" sq pipe to them vertically.
One went on top at the correct height for the vise's
top mount, the second one went at the bottom for the
leg.
Then I made up a bracket bolted to the vise using some
heavy angle iron, a little plate and other scrounged
materials with a piece of 1 1/2 (IIRC) sq. to socket
into the 2" sq. receivers. The bracket on the leg was
somewhat simpler as it only had to hold the leg.
Lastly there were a couple pins to hold it in place
when lifting on something in the vise.
Mounting the thing was as easy as lifting that heavy
old vise about 4" and dropping the 1 1/2" into the
sockets and pinning it in place. I wouldn't mount my 6"
Indian Chief this way again but I have a much lighter
4" now.
I could make some concept sketches if you'd like.

If it ain't forged
it ain't real.
Wrought iron is.

Any chance you have a drawing or photo of your vise
mounting system on the drum? Or could you elaborate on
the use of square tubing for the quick mount/dismount
of the vise.
