the one in me is a Bard G2 IVC filter .

since they are made to be retrievable they do not
necessarily stay put where they are placed.  they
have been known to end up inside the heart itself.

if they are unable to retrieve it the 'normal way'
they may decide to remove it by open chest/heart
surgery.

this was not in the program and definitely not on my
list of things to do this spring.
