[TheForge] Blacksmith sledge hammer

While over at a friends house last week I spotted a an old rusty hammer head 
shaped like a cross pien hammer.  My friend had dug it up while cleaning out 
a shed on the farm and really didn't have a need for it, so she gave it to 
me.  It was badlly pitted and had been dressed with an Oxy/Acetiline torch. 
I spent some time cleaning it up yesterday and because of it's condition 
there were no markings left to identify it.  I put it on the scale and it 
weighs 6 pounds.

Is there a non-blacksmithng application for a heavy cross pien hammer?  The 
only thing I could figure was that it might have been used to break up old 
concrete.
