the ones we use are preaty smooth not much left on them as far as teeth, the 
edge is preaty much a 90... as far as a handle goes...the longer the better 
ive used a "real scraper" the tirangular kind with the flutes and the only 
advantage that it had over a home made one was the length of the handle it 
makes for better control when working...i wouldnt fret too much over angles 
just pratice and youll get it

   ..we use something called "red lead" as a kind of dye to let you know 
where the high spots so if your scraping a bearing you have a dummy shaft 
thats the exact same size only lighter, coat this with a THIN coat of the 
dye and turn the shaft in the part your working on and scrape off the red 
high spots... for most applications i THINK that the rule of thumb is when 
you have 75% contact your good enough
