IF you are using a Victor torch, then your supplier "SHOULD" know what tip to order you. I am not a big fan of propane myself. I prefer HPG gas if I am not planning on torch welding, but back to your problem.

If you have a oo or a o tip you can do some very fine work on sheet metal. The tip will be a 2 piece tip that the core will separate from the outer body ( http://www.weldmark.com/public/pdf/cutting_tips.pdf ).

When you are cutting thin sheet metal, I always lay the torch over at about 15 degrees and travel fast. It is totally different from torch cutting metals that are 3/16" or thicker.
