Most excellent!! It's good to get the young people interested. Though
my children don't have an interest, they still tell stories of things
that they have "had to do" with me when they were younger. And it goes
a long way to show them the value of a day hard worked and a dollar well
earned.

Well, me, other than doing some standard tripods and stuff, I got the
Welsh dragon onto the back of my newest truck. Removed it from the old
almost dead one. Took the bumper sticker, scanned it in, made it
bigger, and then bent metal to fit the drawing. Then made it into a
headache bar for loads that may slip forward. I repainted it red
because it was difficult to see in the old truck, and the new truck has
darkened windows. Very hard to see black on black<G>. I like the more
artsy stuff though it doesn't sell worth a hoot. It also draws people
over to look at it.

All the Best

By the way, thanks for your time in making the hardies for the school.
I haven't had a chance to go there, but hear great stories.

Well, I made 20 new hardies for the John C. Campbell Folk School. Last
week
was work week and while I had my daughter and son-in-law and 14 month
old
grandson visiting -- Andrew and I worked on the hardies.

They are a composite construction. Mild steel on the bottom and tool
steel
welded on the top. Use Paul Garrett's Hy-Tuf steel for the working
portion.
We will see how they hold up in the hell of the Folk School. Never have

understood how students and instructors could be so damn hard on the
equipment. (Some instructors are the worst -- act like it is there job
to
prove that they can break things.) Folks do things that they would
never do
in their own shop. Comes with being a school I guess.
