If you keep an eye out, you can sometimes find outdated, add-on high 
frequency generators ( THEY SOLD FOR A COUPLE OF HUNDRED BUCKS once).
With an AC-DC machine a flow regulator on a bottle of argon,a shielded 
gas torch, and a hi-freq generator...you can do most of what an official 
TIG will do. It's the low buck approach...pf
