Year ago at Bob Bergman's I watched a very interesting punch press demo by
Beau Hickory RD43 in the UMBA library.
He could make one heat penny scrolls including the penny in large stock 
Several different bar decorations cold including lines or any style punched
decoration
All cold
The dies took a little setting up so you did not want to do one offs but
when he got going it was fast.
Could do straight or curved lines
I used mine to vein a bunch of leaves.  Veining has a limit of how large the
work piece can be it has to fit where the pres shoes are to go so a small
press works smaller pieces

You can do most of the bar decoration a fly press can do but it is powered
instead of arm strong.  Tap the foot for single blow or keep foot down for
multiple blows

And if I get bored, the guy I got the A&O from has another lawn ornament he
ardently wishes to get shut of, an 8' tall punch press of the same vintage.
Huh, I should live so long. :-)
