I haven't taken any close up shots of the UHMW yet, but I'll try in the 
next day or two.  They are being held in place by 3/8"-16 bolts that fit 
in holes I milled/drilled into them.  They only go about 1/2-way into 
them.  I don't remember the exact thickness, but it is a little less than 
1/2" (3/8" maybe, or 7/16")  I've got 1/2" as well, and it is just a 
little too big.
